Source Music responded to previous reports that the group will not be performing on the show: ŌĆ£It is true that GFRIEND will not be appearing on Show! Music Core.ŌĆØ This does not come as a surprise. GFRIEND did not promote their last comeback on Show! Music Core as well. This is because BigHit Entertainment, which previously acquired Source Music, is not in good relations with MBC. In 2019, BTS performed at New YearŌĆÖs RockinŌĆÖ Eve instead of MBCŌĆÖs end of the year music festival. Some accuse MBC of ŌĆ£abusing powerŌĆØ by preventing artists under BigHit Entertainment from promoting on their music show. BTS, TXT, and SEVENTEEN also did not promote on Show! Music Core for recent promotions. MBC responded by saying that these accusations were ŌĆ£groundlessŌĆØ and false. BigHit Entertainment did not release an official statement on the matter yet. GFRIEND made a comeback on July 13th with their new mini-album ŌĆśÕø×: Song of the SirensŌĆÖ and is receiving lots of love from fans as it sweeps music charts in Korea and abroad. Source (1)
